"Versailles", inspired by the sculptures from the Chateau Versailles, 60 x 40 cm, oil on canvas, 2022
While visiting the Versailles Castle, I saw three small sculptures placed on one of the chests of drawers. This motif, enhanced by the amazing color and texture of the wallpaper, so co-ordinated with me that it appeared both as watercolor on paper (the work was created in Versailles itself), and later as oil on canvas. The underpainting reflect the softness of the velvet fabric and its texture well.
