“Animapolis”, Hermès silk scarf, 90x90 cm
Imagination of a fantasy city. Every detail tells a story. A dragon lays siege to the Warsaw Palace of Culture and Science, a panther sets its sights on the Kremlin, and a bear and crocodile are in cahoots outside Moscow's St. Basil's Cathedral. Onlookers at the windows of Hermès Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris have front row seats to the delightful spectacle. This design was my first project for Hermes. Work on this drawing lasted two and a half months with brakes. Then the drawing was scanned, photographed and during next months was redrawn for print, colours were separated and selected for different colours versions. Then for the next months scarf was printed in Lyon. The whole process of making the scarf until it was on sale took about a year and a half.
