Samoëns” from the series "Winter in the Alps 2023", 40 x 80 cm, oil on canvas, 2023
This winter has been a very strange one. The season that should be full of snow, frost and moisture turned out to be extremely warm and dry. Since I lived in the Alps, I have never experienced anything like this. Seeing the slopes and fields only partly covered with snow at this time of year is truly a sad sight. This feeling is certainly heightened by the consequences of climate change, such as the lack of work in certain sectors or the omnipresent drought in a region that has so far been famous for snow.
