“La Selle Imaginaire”, Hermès silk scarf, 90 x 90 cm
“La Selle Imaginaire” is inspired by saddle from Emile Hermès collection with the characteristic leopard hair. However, the saddle shown on the scarf is not referring directly to any existing saddle and it’s a mix of different parts from differents saddles for example like those from “Album de Colportage”. “La Selle Imaginaire” presents imaginary saddle created from realistic and completely abstract elements. It’s a play with idea of the saddle consisting various elements, shapes, patterns, ornaments. The whole is supposed to resemble abstract painting rather than the image of a saddle.
